How amazing would it be to help shape the social media strategy of a new national brand?
Are you in need of a flexible internship that allows you to be viewed as an accomplished professional before you even graduate? Easy Event Planning (EEP) has been offering highly compelling opportunities for students to learn in a supportive, virtual environment for nearly 20 years. Our interns have built critical resume-building experience that has allowed them to be hired by Fortune 500 companies and some of the top names in SEO (search engine optimization). This opportunity affords a pathway for exploring career opportunities you may never have even considered.
We are a leading innovator in the event space and will launch a first-of-its-kind event marketplace in 2025, where people can find over a million ideas for 400+ theme parties and events in one place.
You may be involved in several different aspects of social media management, including:
Conducting research on which types of posts are most likely to generate engagement
Creating Pinterest boards for events in our marketplace
Brainstorming original content ideas for all platforms
Creating compelling graphics and videos
Writing social media captions that speak to the company’s target audience and align with our brand messaging
Creating content calendars
Scheduling posts
Developing strategies to increase engagement
Researching ideas for reshares
Tracking engagement
Engaging with followers
Our needs are evolving, and we cannot predict exactly which projects will be undertaken in a given semester. We are looking for students with prior social media experience in a number of these areas for a business or nonprofit, preferably with some experience creating images. Graphic design students are encouraged to apply.
This is a highly competitive position. You must be a proactive go-getter to succeed in this flexible, remote environment. We’re looking for serious-minded students who are looking to learn, take initiative, and build their resume skills. You can work from home and create your own schedule. Most communication will take place via Zoom and Skype video, audio, and text. This is currently an unpaid internship position.

Who is managing you as an intern?
Ms. Kilmer, our CEO, is mentoring this group and providing all instruction personally. Students are put on teams to facilitate better communication. She also meets with the team leaders every week and is available if any particular team needs more guidance. Any student can message her directly at any time.
How many hours do you require?
10 is really the minimum, but most students opt to maximize the opportunity and go well beyond that. There are projects available to keep you busy, no matter how many hours you want to work.
What hours can I work?
There is a lot of flexibility, and you can work this around another internship or job.
What do we look for in an intern?
We love working with students who really want to learn, take advantage of the incredible opportunity, contribute, and advance to leadership roles.
What are the weekly requirements?
Students must record their hours and accomplishments each week and attend two short team meetings per week. You must be highly responsive on Skype.
